Everest Three Passes Trek is the best destination to trek around average 5000 metres with Renjo La, Cho la, Gokyo ri, Kalapatthar, EBC and Chukung Ri in one trek, that makes truly lifetime experience in Nepal to exploring around Everest region. Everest Three passes trek is truly strenuous itinerary that recommends having the experienced trekkers who already familiar with this condition. During our trekking, we cross three high passes – Kongma La Pass (5,535/18,159ft), Cho La Pass (5420m/17,782ft) and Renjo La Pass (5,340m/17,520ft) in the Everest region.

On our trekking adventure, we cross three high passes in the Everest region – Kongma La Pass (5,535/18,159ft), Cho La Pass (5420m/17,782ft) and Renjo La Pass (5,340m/17,520ft) and set foot on the Everest base camp, climb Kala Patthar and Gokyo Ri; and tour Gokyo Lakes that makes forgettable trekking experience in Nepal.

On the Three Passes Trek, you will observe the ancient culture of Sherpa peoples. The trekking trail passes through traditional villages, Buddhist monasteries, monuments, prayer wheels along with himalayas of Everest. This trekking located inside Sagarmatha National Park, which is one of the UNESCO heritage sites of Nepal, where home of different of wildlife including some of the rare animals like himalayan thars, musk deer, red panda and yaks.

Day 13: Lobuche to Dzongla (4830m/15,850 ft): 6km, 3 – 4 hours
Day 14: Trek to Gokyo (4800m/15,580 ft) via Cho La pass (5368m/17,611 ft): 6km, 7 – 8 hours
Day 15: Rest day in Gokyo: Climb Gokyo Ri (5357m/17,575 ft), tour 4th and 5th Gokyo lakes: 3 – 4 hours
Day 16: Gokyo to Marlung (4210m/13,810 ft) via Renjo La Pass (5360m/17585 ft): 11km, 7 – 8 hours
Day 17: Marlung to Namche Bazaar: 15km, 5 – 6 hours
Day 18: Namche Bazaar to Lukla: 19km, 6 – 7 hours
Day 19: Lukla to Kathmandu: 40 minutes flight
Day 20: Final Departure

Day 1
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 m/4264 ft)

After your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, a Royal Mountain Trekking staff will pick you up from the airport to the Hotel. You can take rest and also you can visit our comany office at Durbar Marg.

Day 2
Day 02: Kathmandu: sightseeing and trek preparation

After breakfast, we begin our tour of Kathmandu Heritage sightseeing. We can visit three UNESCO World heritage site. We can visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple,Sacred temple of all Hindus peoples and Swayambhunath temple aka Monkey Temple, one of the largest stupas in the world.After completing our tour late in afternoon, we drive to Royal Mountain Trekking office for brief meeting about our trek and also know our guide, where he can lead along with you.

Day 3
Day 03: Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,651m/8,700ft): 40 minutes flight; 8km, 3 - 4 hours trek

Early morning, we take flight to Lukla, right after breakfast. The flight will be interesting and himalaya scrence that will make our flight memorable. After landing at Lukla, we begin our short trek to Phakding immediately. We walk on a trail that gradual descends to Cheplung village after one hour trek. From here, we trek to Phakding along with green landscape and beautiful view of Kusum Kangaru.

Day 4
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft): 11km, 5 - 6 hours

After breakfast, we begin our trek passes through a pine forest and we continue our walk crossing Dudh Koshi river on the trail goes to Benkar Village. From that village, we can see the magnificent view of Mt. Thamserku (6623m). We cross multiple bridges and reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where our trekking permits are checked. Then we continue walk toward Namche Bazaar passing through Jorsalle village. From Namche Bazaar, we can see beautiful views of the Himalayas including Everest, Lhotse and others. We stay at Namche Bazaar.

Day 5
Day 05: Namche Bazaar: Rest and acclimatization

On this day, we acclimatize to high altitude to rest the day but we can hike around Namche Bazaar to stay active. We can hike-up to Sagarmatha National Park and enjoy the sunrise over the Himalayas including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde and so on. If we are interested in a day hike, we can trek to Khumjung village. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Day 6
Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m/12,660 ft): 10km, 5 - 6 hours

Today, we trek to Phunki Thanga which is relatively easy trail. From here, we ascend towards tengboche village which is home to largest monastery in the Everest Region. The monastery located within the Sagarmatha National Park, which is listed as UNESCO World heritage site. From that places, we can see panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse and others himalayas. Overnight in Tengboche.

Day 7
Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft): 9km, 5 - 6 hours trek

We begin today trek descends and passes through lush forests of birch, conifers and rhododendron trees. We continue our trek along with good views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. The trail dips down to Debuche crosses the Imja River and lead to Pangboche. We choose the upper Pangboche trail and admire the Himalayan vista and Pangboche Monastery. We move towards the Imja valley, Lobuche river and climb up to Dingboche. The village is beautiful with small settlements having a lot of chortens, stupas and prayer flags. We overnight stay at Dingboche.

Day 8
Day 08: Dingboche: acclimatization and rest

Dingboche is a popular stop for trekkers and climbers headed to Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam or Imja Tse. Dingboche is a gorgeous valley surrounded by majestic peaks and with fields enclosed by stone walls to protect barley, potatoes and buckwheats from cold wind and animals. we spend a day at Dingboche for acclimatization. We take a small hike around Dingboche to active our body. Dingboche is also the gate for Island Peak Climbing. Island Peak is one of the most popular trekking peaks of Nepal which is climbed by numerous climbers every year.

Day 9
Day 09: Dingboche to Chhukung (4750m/15,580 ft), climb Chhukung Ri (5,546m): 14km, 6 – 7 hours trek

It is a pleasant walk from Dingboche to Chhukung. Our trail passes through stone-walled fields with high alpine terrains. The trail follows near the Imja Khola which comes from glacier from Island peak and other peaks nearby. The trail goes to Bibre, where yak herdsman live. From here, we directly across the valley where we can see the stunning views of Ama Dablam and Amphu Lapsa mountain. we continue our walk for around half an hour and reach Chhukung. After lunch, we begin our trek towards Chhukung Ri. The climb to Chhukung Ri having steep ground near summit. From the top, we can look directly across the valley for fantastic view of Ama Dablam and Amphu Lapcha peaks. We descend back to Chhukung to for the night.

Day 10
Day 10: Cross to Kongma La pass (5535m/18,159ft), trek to Lobuche (4940m/16,210ft): 10km, 6 - 7 hours trek

Today, we trek very early in the morning to reach the highest part of the entire trip which is Kongma La pass and also one of the toughest day in this trekking. We will carry enough amount of water and some packed meals, on the way there are no lodges or tea shop.

once we climb around 5-6 hours, we will reach top of the Kongma La Pass, which is a small area covered with Buddhist praying flags. From the top we can enjoy panoramic views of Mount Everest, Gauri Shanker, Pumori, Makalu, Nuptse and Lhotse.

The descending from the top is quite tough despite it’s descending. It is a steep descent over boulders and loose rocks. Mind your step and walk carefully. We are walking on the Khumbu glacier and there are crevasses you should be careful of. From there, we head toward to Lobuche. Overnight stay at Lobuche.

Day 11
Day 11: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170 m/16,961ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5364 m/17,594 ft): 13km, 6-7 hours trek

From Lobuche to Gorakshep takes more than 2 hours and we must leave early morning, so we can back again for night to stay. Our trail moves along with moraine of Khumbu Glacier. We can see the beautiful view of the north ridge of Everest along with Pumori, Mahalangur, Khumbutse, Nuptse and other himalayas.

We ascend on a steep trail up to the top of Changri Glacier. we reach Gorak shep and eat our breakfast and also we take light food before moving towards Everest Base Camp. From EBC, as lap of Mount Everest, from this point, you can enjoy the highest mountain in the world i.e. Mt. Everest and other mountains. We trek back to Gorak shep and spend the night.

Day 12
Day 12: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5545 m/18,192 ft), then to Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft): 7km, 8 - 9 hours trek

We start our trek early in the morning to Kala Patthar in order to catch magnificent views of the first sun light in Mt. Everest. There is always chance for chilly winds which is quite common. after we ascent several hours, we will reach the top of the Kala Patthar. We stay sometime in kala Patthar to take photos. From that point, you can enjoy the panaromic views of Khumbutse, Changtse, Everest, Nuptse and other mountains. After that we descend back to Lobuche where we stay the night.

Day 13
Day 13: Lobuche to Dzongla (4830m/15,850 ft): 6km, 3 - 4 hours trek

From Lobuche, we trek downhll on a trail along with Khumbu Glacier. Our trail splits into two and we choose the trail on our right. On the way, we can see close view of the Awi Peak. We pass through a stupa and tombstones in the distance. After walking for a while we begin to ascend. During the ascent, we see Chola Tsho Lake nearby. We continue further and pass another lake which is lot smaller than the Chola Tsho Lake. We cross the Chola Khola on a bridge before reaching Dzongla. We stay in Dzongla.

Day 14
Day 14: Trek to Gokyo (4800m/15,580 ft) via Cho La pass (5368m/17,611 ft): 6km, 7 - 8 hours trek

Day 15: Rest day in Gokyo: Climb Gokyo Ri (5357m/17,575 ft), tour 4th and 5th Gokyo lakes: 3 - 4 hours trek

Day 16
Day 16: Gokyo to Marlung (4210m/13,810 ft) via Renjo La Pass (5360m/17585 ft): 11km, 7 - 8 hours trek

Day 17
Day 17: Marlung to Namche Bazaar: 15km, 5 - 6 hours trek

Day 18
Day 18: Namche Bazaar to Lukla: 19km, 6 - 7 hours trek

Day 19
Day 19: Lukla to Kathmandu: 40 minutes flight

Day 20
Day 20: Final Departure
